Jon Langeland,artist name, «leftjohn», was born in Oslo 1951 and still lives there.
He takespictures to showthe beauty, personality and interaction between animals in their natural surroundings. Many of the species Jon photograph are endangered and some may be extinct in some decades.
Jon is a doctor, educated and working as a dermatologist, when he is not travelling the world with his photobag. He got his first SLR camera 12 years old and has photographed his whole life.
From 2007, after a photo trip to Kirgistan, he gradually increased his wildlife photography and started to travel to remote places like Kenya, Galapagos, Svalbard, Alaska ++.From always using the longest lenses taking closeups ofmammals, Jon has changed to doing more landscapes with animalsbut still enjoys his longest lenses .

He is a finalist in some of the most prestigious photo competitions in the worldand his pictures have been“commended” and published twice among the top 100 out of 50 000 in the GDT European Wildlife Contest.
