Peter John de Villiers

Painter
Peter-John de Villiers (1980) is an artist born in South Africa, now living in Norway.
Peter-John’s de Villiers work is an attempt to connect us with the timeless and infinite that we implicitly understand exists outside of our own linear experience of life.
His paintings seek to evoke these indefinable truths and help us tap into a hidden world that can only be understood through our own subjective ecperience. His art addresses our connection to nature and all creation with its cycles of birth, growth, decay and death.
Common, intertwining themes abound – the eternal dichotomy of light and dark in all its forms, the interplay between organic, chaotic patterns and sacred geometry.
Peter John’s practice is one of a visionary, searching to express the ephemeral, eternal divine in all its glory, its poetry and infinite possibility.
